There really isn't much to say that isn't echoed from "Of Man and Volt". The time that he casts Indignation at the beginning of the fight was typically instant, though he could vary it (like in this victory take) just enough so you could stop it from casting instantly. Either way, even interrupting Volt doesn't guarantee it won't just cast Indignation right after it recovers anyway, so I gave up that first hit nonsense and disabled the party so I could manually get them the hell out of dodge. Unfortunately there is also the problem that Volt can cast Indignation later during the battle, which meant the fight had to end quickly.

So after a stockpile of failures I left the dungeon and hunted down Toss Hammer. It does a ridiculous amount of damage considering it's really out of the way/under the radar at this point in the game...or maybe it's just Volt. I'm not sure, but it ended up sealing the deal. The only problem is that on Hardcore mode, a 10 hit combo causes Volt to use Family Reunion, which hits everybody, and Chat was fairly fragile for me. Between hammers dealing 5+ hits a pop, Burning Force with its extra hit(s), and having to pin Volt down with Reid it became difficult to stop Family Reunion from happening, but fortunately he's pretty vulnerable afterward and Meredy gets enough time to heal (and with THIS game's Nurse, she needs all the time she can get).
