Good grief, Sylph is a pain. The main thing that caused game overs is that Sylph casts Cyclone almost every time you fight him on this mode unless you interrupt him. Getting the party out of dodge is pretty difficult considering it has a pretty fast start up. He also spams Wind Blade and uses Air Thrust, though for this take he opted out of using the high tier spells in favor of raining his weak Wind Arrows down. Sylphid Arrow is basically Spear of Baptism on steroids, but again I was able to stop him from using it.

Actually fighting him consists of a lot of running and slicing him down from the sky with Demon Hammer/Twist/Tiger Blade/Rage/Kogahazan/renzan/deeznuts while also getting the Arms in those hits as well. Demon Twist followed by Dragon Swarm works wonders in pinning him down, but that brings up a gripe I have with the PSP version that made me want to do this run on the PSX version to begin with. The damn shortcut button is L + X/O, which is just a ridiculous input in the middle of battle. Having Dragon Swarm on shortcut works, but sometimes lead to artes coming out when I didn't want them. But eventually I had to get over it.

As for the ladies.... well Farah is mostly just the healer, with a helpful third assist every now and then. Meredy's Grave is the most damaging thing in this fight (except Dragon Flash perhaps), and since it casts quickly it's good at keeping the little twerp grounded. Lightning is also useful, but I decided against it even though it has aerial priority that Grave lacks.
