Tales Of Monkey Island Episode 1: Part 2 - Amputation Is The Sincerest Form Of Flattery
0In this chapter, Guybrush Threepwood, having learned the location of "Deep Gut", discovers, (not) much to his surprise, that the island's primary informant is none other than his old friend, the Voodoo Lady - who informs him that the trouble with his hand is due to his having contracted the highly contagious "Pox of LeChuck", and that only the successful acquisition of a magical cleansing device known as "The Big Sponge" will lift the curse both from himself and the island. In order to remain functional, however, Guybrush needs immediate treatment for his hand, so he contacts the island's doctor, Marquis De Singe, whose grog-based anaesthetic seems to be quite efficient... though the same cannot be said about the Marquis' apparent plan to remove Guybrush's hand for his own nefarious purposes!
