In this chapter, Guybrush uses all of his cunning - and a little saucy assistance on the part of Morgan LeFlay - to get on the good side of De Cava's crew members, including even the dead one (fortuitously replaced by our old acquaintance, Murray The Demonic Skull). Having passed through all the tests, Guybrush is accepted into the "Brotherhood" and immediately entrusted with its most precious posession - the manatee's cochlea, required to restore the beast's sense of direction and guide the gang to the Sacred Manatee Mating Grounds, where the Big Sponge is just waiting to be picked up. Unfortunately, the cave of the Sponge is guarded by an even more formidable foe - a terrifying female manatee, suffering from acute loneliness - and now it is up to Guybrush to find a way of efficient communication with the animal, which is a bit difficult to do while stranded aboard a small ship in the middle of the ocean...
