Description:
Crossworlds is a MMORPG that goes beyond virtual and augmented reality. Player avatars and enemies can manifest in reality using Instant Matter, allowing them to use the physical world itself as the game's setting.
Lea is a mute Crossworlds player who spawns on the ship, MS Solar, instead of the usual starting area. Even more unusually, she is guided by Sergey, a non-player who has the ability to adjust her avatar's speech functionality. Unfortunately, Lea is forced to flee to the main MMO zone, the Playground, when she's attacked by a mysterious avatar who seems to know about her past.

To get into the Vermillion Dungeon, you have to complete some difficult stealth sections. Fortunately, there are checkpoints for these sections.
The dungeon is instanced, but Sergey has a plan to get Lea and Lukas into the same instance. You have to get to Sergey's glowing rhombuses, which will allow Lea to smash through the walls and go into other instances of the dungeon. Unfortunately, the way the instance portals work, they're usually hidden behind puzzles.
Eventually, the Blue Avatar will catch on to our blatant cheating and send security brutes after Lea while she's still going through the instances. Lea finds a room where an Avatar is being tortured, which the Blue Avatar didn't want her to see. He then sics a snail boss on her.
[ 22:04 ] Boss: Gastropolis
The boss can summon exploding slugs and can use heat and cold attacks, the most dangerous of which involves body slams. It can be broken by attacking its tail, but you'll find that it has HP that can be written in scientific notation.
Fortunately, Sergey will hack Lea's damage to go up every time she kills a slug. Eventually, the boss will create a wall that shoots fire at Lea. Once you survive this and examine the rhombus, the wall will be converted into buffs, allowing Lea to fight the boss on even footing.
Afterwards, Lea makes it to Lukas's instance and the two escape to a harbor. Unfortunately, the Blue Avatar paralyzes Lukas, who tells Lea to go on without him. The Blue Avatar traps Lea between walls, only for Captain Jet to swoop in and take her to the MS Solar.
Lea is still shaken up by the bombshell about her Evotar nature and having to abandon Lukas. To cheer her up, the crew asks her to participate in a test of instant matter limitations, such as their disintegration upon too much water and their low density compared to humans.
Sergey unlocks Lea's ability to teleport to checkpoints and adds MS Solar as a checkpoint. Unfortunately, when Lea returns, Emilie is irate that the former left during a raid. We also see Lukas intact, but this is the real one and not the Evotar version we teamed up with before. Lea runs off and decides to go to Gaia's Garden alone, since Emilie no longer trusts her.
