[TAS] Dustforce - Hideout SS in 0:32.398
Character framewar? Character framewar.
Optimizing Hideout with Dustworth is a pretty interesting proposition. His big floaty jumps help with climbs, and his big hitboxes help him clean all the pesky hard-to-reach dust from further away, but his big jumps ALSO prevent him from downdashing as early as would be ideal in many spots, and in multiple places he's forced to choose between a shorthop and a full jump when really something in the middle would be ideal. That ending sure is slick, though.
Compared to Dustkid, specifically, he lacks a lot of the aerial mobility she has, and has much more trouble carrying boosts through some of the longer spiky parts, but gets much better horizontal speed from spikejumps and generally doesn't lose as much speed when NOT dashing. Working on this did make me notice a few potential improvements with Dustkid, though, so there's potential for that in the future.
First, though, expect a Dustman run at some point. If Dustman blows away both Worth and Kid, there's not really much point in having those two duke it out to maximum optimization. However, with these two being only 5 frames apart currently, there's a lot of potential for really interesting things in the future.
