fishmcmuffins did an any% TAS saving 1 frame over the current WR by taking advantage of a jorfslopeboost on the electrified diamond under the three floating slime blobs. In any%, however, you have to jump shortly after the dash to avoid crashing into the ground, and asymmetrical air friction rapidly wrecks your speed.

In SS, however, you need to super to clear dust anyway, and supers force your vertical velocity to 0. With this, the extremely fast diagonal speed boost received from the slopejorf can be converted to a still quite fast horizontal boost, and then the super can be followed up by a dash to avoid as much as possible of that pesky leftward air friction, saving a significant chunk of time on the way over to the final downdash. Nice!
