Team Losi RC Racer Game Sample - Playstation
An obscure U.S. release published by Fox Interactive (better known as "Buggy" elsewhere) based around the radio-controlled car manufacturer known as "Team Losi", the game is another R.C. racer. While there are a variety out there such as "Mini RC Rally,", "R.C. Pro Am", "RC de GO!", "R.C. Grand Prix", "Re-Volt", and many others, this one was developed by Gremlin Interactive! That aside, this game does not stack up with some other RC games IMO and with glitchy visuals, framerate inconsistencies, frustrating gameplay (where you have to go through gates in different color order just to get various power-ups, which is easier said than done due to touchy controls even when considering the type of racer it is), and an overall generic feel and interface that almost makes it seem like a beta title thrown on the open market, it may come off as a turd at first glance. However, some people apparently love this game... the extent to which you access certain abilities and explore for secrets (such as a power that lets you fly) is unique, but the primary positives I can indentify personally is the audio, as the music is acceptable, the game features several unlockables, and some of the level designs are pretty neat. The physics, while a bit much, are also fairly accurate to how a real R.C. car reacts.
This isn't a racing or R.C. title that I'd particularly recommend as a whole... its technical shortcomings are quite apparent, the game has not aged well, and I don't find the game as fun as titles like "RC de GO!" just to name one... the game was also released for PC as well, so perhaps that version is a good deal better. Gameplay starts at 3:43 or so.
