I feel conflicted about this game. The graphics are wonderful and the papercraft looks great. The aesthetics are nice. There is a huge variety in level design. The game utilizes the DS4 motion and touch controls, which just about every game ignores. The controls work pretty well, the motion controls are used in unique ways, though can be awkward at times. Drawing on the touchpad is pretty cool. Creating funny objects for NPCs and the environment can be hilarious. The story is hecking cute and the voice acting very nice. On the other had, the camera can be super frustrating, sometimes you have full control and other times they take it from you arbitrarily. It really messes with you depth perception and later in the game there is some tricky platforming. This is another collect-a-thon styled game, and I love that, but it also blocks you off from back tracking in levels and that is super annoying. You'll be exploring and all of a sudden you past a point that won't let you go back. Some side events don't reset even when the game states they will. It's rough and honestly stopped me from attempting to actually gather everything, something I love to do. The game also feels like it's dragging on. The game teases an ending in front of you twice before it actually ends. That feeling of getting close to winning to have it yanked out from under me was a hard pill to swallow. I think the level design is cool and varied, but I would rather the game not tease me about ending. It honestly gave me a bad taste and it gave me the feeling of wanting the game to end. I had fun wandering around and finding presents and completing little side quests for the NPCs and doing small challenges. It was amusing. But every time the game dangled the carrot in front of me it kept me wondering how much could possibly be left? That's not a feeling I want while playing. In fact, I want the opposite feeling, I want to be left wanting more. Which this game certainly gives you. I had fun, I also was left feeling frustrated. It's not a bad game at all. It's loads of fun, but it did leave me annoyed at times. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
