I have been meaning to do a 3D ST game for a while. Normally this would mean playing a good game, but instead I picked up Test Drive, an early attempt at fun by Accolade in 1987.

Test Drive is exactly what it says, you can pick from one of five super-powered cars and can test drive it. Yes there's no-one to race, no checkpoints, there's not even a timer to ebb you on. It's just you, the open road and the odd road user. There's also appears to be just one track - you are always driving along a mountainside with the horrible looking brown wall on the right. Although for 1987 I guess it looks alright.

The lack of content would be okay if the game played well, but the cars don't feel massively different in handling and the game has a massive collision detection problem. There were certain moments when cars would come right and me and there would be no smash, but on other moments I would hit the wall when I was nowhere near it. It's just not an enjoyable game.
