So today I thought I would test out just how well the Index controllers work with the new HP Reverb G2. Since I received it last week the controller tracking has been the weakest point in my gaming experiences with this new headset. After finding out that most of my issues were environmental and caused by my large green screen throwing off the tracking. I can now say that the controllers do not track horribly but they are limited by the fact that they are still inside out tracked and not as accurate as lighthouse tracked controllers that are outside in tracked. I have also had a huge issue with reloading weapons in some games and I am looking forward to returning to my old familiar and currently preferred control method but with this new high resolution headset now!

Also as mentioned in the stream here is a link to the video over on MRTV that shows how to hook up the index controllers using the dongle method. since I am using my old Vive the only step that is different is that you just set up the Vive first and then unplug the HDMI cord from the back of your PC.. that's it! then just follow the rest of the steps in his video to calibrate the controllers and you should be up and running!!! Shout out to Greg Stew for his comment on one of my other streams where he let me know this was possible! []-)

Here are the steps to follow for those who don't want to watch the video:

1 - Pair Index controllers to another compatible headset or USB Vive tracker dongle

2 - Disconnect the HDMI / Display port cable if using another headset. Leave the USB connected!

3 - Plug in your Reverb / G2 and start Steam VR with the default Reverb controllers being used.

4 - Turn on the Index controllers. You will now see them appear in the Steam VR status Window as well as being far off in the distance in steam VR Home.

5 - Start VR Space Calibrator and select both right controllers or both left controllers but make sure you have selected one WMR controller and one Index controller.

6 - Hold the controllers on top of each other. I put the Index controller on normally with the knuckle strap and rest it on top of the Reverb controller.

7 - Start the calibration... I make figure 8's in the sky and walk around doing this step. IDK if you are supposed to but I noticed that the controllers look more closely matched after calibration if I do!

8 - Now from your PC force kill Steam VR and restart it with only the Index Controllers powered on. Now you should have perfectly synced controllers!
