The 2 Quake Games - Cartridge Authentication & Manual
RANKING: D
Doom, but done badly, in 3D! I don't like the setting: medieval (as oppose to Dooms demonic setting), I don't like the unrealistic weapons especially the nailgun, I don't like the unrealistic physics (rocket jumping anyone?) monsters are not as memorable as Doom's demons. Everything was done better on Doom, the only thing better in this game is it is in true 3D, but that does not make for a good game (it doesn't have multiple hit-boxes on the enemies where you can do varying degrees of damage on them). If you know about the making of this game, the developers were not happy with this game either.
So there is a big bad called Quake that want's to destroy everything and it's you job to stop him, you must go through slipgates to another dimension to get to him. So this is a 1st-person shooter in true 3D as oppose to the fake 3D in Doom. It's a fast pace shooting gallery shooter and not like the more realistic Goldeneye. You Go through 21 to 25 level to beat the game.
Not as good as Doom, I'd recommend Doom over this game.
