The 35th Anniversary CASTLEVANIA Retrospective (Chapter 4 of 4)
1At LONG, LONG LAST... the 4TH AND FINAL CHAPTER OF THE 35th CASTLEVANIA RETROSPECTIVE HAS ARRIVED, complete with showcases of the following:
CASTLEVANIA LEGENDS (1997-98): 6 to 7 years following BELMONT'S REVENGE... Despite this obscure portable Castlevania entry being recognized and branded as 'non-canon', this was conceived as a prequel to every other entry in the franchise. Set in 1450s Transylvania, during which ol' Drac first came into being... 17-year-old Sonia Belmont, who happens to develop mystical powers during her upbringing, ventures out to defy the vamp-douche while meeting up with his iconic son who also seeks vengeance.
CASTLEVANIA - CIRCLE OF THE MOON (2001): Unlike all of the other Castlevania titles thus far, this GBA launch title revolves around NATHAN GRAVES this time around, alongside the father/son duo of HUGH & MORRIS BALDWIN who end up interrupting the resurrection of Dracula at the hands of her minion Camilla... Obviously, the 3 then split up and find a way to cease her actions, orchestrated by Morris' soul being used to do so!
CASTLEVANIA - HARMONY OF DISSONANCE (2002): Taking place half a century following Simon's victory over Dracula - 1748 - his grandson JUSTE explores the castle himself (after parting ways with Maxim Kischine) only to find out that his childhood friend, Lydie Erlanger, is held captive.
CASTLEVANIA - ARIA OF SORROW (2003): Taking place in 2035 (more than a decade from now, obviously) - a Japanese transfer student, SOMA CRUZ, visits the Hakuba shrine along with his friend since childhood Mina Hakuba. The 2 are eventually drawn into the solar eclipse, thereby landing in the mysterious yet iconic Dracula's castle (despite originally being located in Transylvania). A government agent by the name of Genya Arikado reveals this very fact, and manages to inform Soma of "the master's chamber" upon dispatching some monsters, one of whose souls is absorbed by Soma, hence his trademark "Power of Dominance".
