The Beat Up #2 - PS4 Streets of Rage 2 - as Max!
So I broke down and got SEGA Genesis Classics on PS4 because it has Streets of Rage 2 in it, which is a darn fine fighting game. I never had a Genesis--kind of missed the 16-bit console era entirely, in fact; I was playing stuff on Commodore and Amiga at that point. But I got and played the PS3 version of SoR2 recently with a friend, and it was good. I sold my PS3 a couple months back when I moved, so it's nice to have a PS4 version now.
I was hoping this version wouldn't be credit-limited like the PS3 version was, but I guess that continue limit is built into the original game or something. So I've never quite beaten the game! Some day. Some day...
This is my first time playing Max. He's pretty cool. He isn't quite Haggar, but he's pretty good. ^_^
Also, I love the Streets of Rage-themed background you can fill the screen's sidebars with in this collection. The emulation and stuff seems solid; you can't remap the buttons, which seems like a big omission, (and the 3D room-themed menus are a bit much) but I guess maybe they wanted you to play on a pad with the buttons in the original Genesis pad button layout, basically. Like, having Jump on Circle in this game feels wrong, but I guess it was on C or whatever on Genesis(?), so, suck it up, me! ; D
