The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a remake of the original 2011 roguelike, The Binding of Isaac. The remake just released today on November 4th 2014. Rebirth is producted and developed by Nicalis and disigned by Edmund McMillen. The game will be released on the following platforms: Playstation 4, Playstation Vita, and Steam. There may be interest in a Nintendo 3Ds and Nintendo Wii U port in the future as well. The soundtrack is composed by Matthias Bossi and Jon Evans. It sounds slick.
The Binding Of Isaac Rebirth release will include all content from the original Binding Of Isaac, the Wrath Of The Lamb expansion, and a slew of new content as well. Included in the new content is a new final chapter, a new ending, and at least three more new playable characters. A lot of the new content included is content that was originally cut from the first Binding Of Isaac due to limitations in Flash.
After my quick look at The Binding Of Isaac Rebirth, first impressions are very solid. I love the 16 bit art style, and the game still features the same great Legend Of Zelda Dungeon feel of the original. As I haven't really played the first game, everything still feels new and fresh for me. I'm excited to unlock more items like the ones I ran into. The unicorn horn, and Shoop The Woop were oh so very exciting. The boss battles were a blast and offered a lot of challenge. The randomly generated nature of the rooms, items, and enemies keep things fresh and interesting each time. My favorite boss encounter so far was definitely Dingle. Cute Giant Poop. I also ran into some gold poop. The art in this game is amazing. Everything has such a dark, gruesome look. Yet, it still somehow manages to have a certain cuteness to it. It's an interesting contrast.
That's it for my mini review. I'm excited to play more and expect that there will be some Binding Of Isaac Rebirth Streams on Twitch in the future :)
