We go to Scotland for the first and only time in our runners-up miniseries. The Scottish league title wasn’t a duopoly in the 1980s. Aberdeen had won the title three times and were reigning champions, Dundee United claimed the title in 1983 and the other two league titles went the way of Celtic, Celtic who were Hearts’ title rivals in 1986. Hearts hadn’t won the league title since 1960, and they haven’t since - stuck on four league titles, Albert Kidd revered at Paradise for his goal in Dundee that killed Hearts’ title hopes, gifting it to Celtic.
