The Diofield Chronicle: Storming Goffren with Fast Forward
3So glad the xbox digitale (heh not digital) deluxe went on sale with early purchase item rewards still available at the time of this vid's upload (black friday sales for physical if you don't care about art/sound too). The Christmas 2022 sale was surprisingly $10 cheaper than black friday.
Fast forward really improves the quality of this game as they don't tell you to check options to press right (left reverts) so actions don't take forever. ambushes (move someone to shoot from behind) help a ton too, and you can do summons that are cool too.
I do feel the story is kinda heavy but it is immersive when enjoying the gameplay (battle room graphics) and does feel a bit like modern day ogre battle. I also recommend putting Waltaquin in front (support means you lose her group healing and magic, which is better off for archers and the ranged axe guy) once the difficulty spikes as losing the healing circle isn't going to help much (you have pairs with the support character giving one or two of their abilities though you can't choose which one). Andrais' assassination can be spammed as a finishing move on weakened enemies.
They did add Waltaquin DLC but I feel the game gets repetitive (spam stun when they charge when they don't make you level grind, which easy mode helps a ton) and forces summons at every level (2 level 2 won't help if in a pinch and only have 1 level full). At least it is better than stranger of paradise bs of needing to pay $25 for game completion and hard mode (free, chapter 6 with no forced difficulty).
