In this chapter, the Champion embarks on the hunt for the seventh piece of the Staff of Chaos, hidden somewhere in the depths of the impenetrable Murkwood forest. To get there, she requires to visit the province of Black Marsh, where the location of Murkwood is promised to her by some local priests if she agrees to retrieve a stone tablet lost in the recently collapsed Vaults of Gemin. The Vaults themselves are a dangerous, if not terribly interesting, location that Jenna traverses swiftly enough; then it is on to Murkwood, another misty and convoluted open-air location like the Elden Grove, but this time with a twisted stone labyrinth in the middle. After making quick work of its Medusa and Fire Daemon guardians, Jenna collects the next-to-last piece of the Staff and returns to civilization, where, in yet another dream, Ria Silmane informs her where she might be able to complete her assembly of the Staff...
