The Belgorod special purpose 09852 nuclear-powered submarine project which will be the first carrier of Poseidon's strategic underwater drone was launched at the Sevmash Shipyard in northern Russia.

As Chief Sevmash, Mikhail Budnichenko said, when the ceremony floated out of the submarine, "the company's shipbuilders will fulfill all the tasks of building ships in a fixed and high quality period." After that, the Captain of the First Rank Ship Commander Anton Alyokhin traditionally crashed into a bottle of champagne on the ship's board.

Construction of submarines will be completed floating. A source in the defense industry earlier told TASS that the submarine nuclear reactor tests and dock trials are scheduled for this year. Belgorod will conduct sea trials and shipbuilding countries by 2020, after which it will be sent to the Navy at the end of that year, the source noted.
