0Following Monk's instructions, Aldo comes to the local barbershop to meet him, although Aldo ends up forced to wait for him as Monk had run into his sister, Frankie. On that same street, Vito Corleone and his middle son, Fredo stop in order for Vito to buy some oranges from the vendor with Tattaglia assassins taking the opportunity to shoot at him, severely injuring him. In the ensuing shootout, Monk is also shot and injured while Frankie is taken hostage, forcing Aldo to fight the assassins off and save Frankie. Afterwards, he ends up assisting distraught Fredo as he escorts the ambulance to the hospital, fending off multiple Tattaglia mobsters trying to destroy it. Despite this, it crashes on an bridge with Aldo killing the attackers and interrogating a higher-ranking Tattaglia mobster, discovering that Sollozzo had kidnapped Corleone consigliere Tom Hagen and is holding him in Brooklyn. Afterwards, him and Fredo take the crashed ambulance with Vito still onboard and drive it to the hospital. There, Aldo first meets both Vito's eldest son, Sonny and one of his oldest capos, Pete Clemenza. With Clemenza more forthcoming, Aldo informs him about Tom Hagen's location with Clemenza saying that the Corleones' inner circle will take care of the matter before telling him to come to the Corleones' compound...
