Review of Rise of the Triad (ROTT for short), a first-person shooter developed by Interceptor Entertainment and published by Apogee Software. This is a remake of the original 1994 DOS version running under the Unreal Engine 3.

Rise of the Triad has you take control of one of five members of the High-risk United Nations Task-force (HUNT for short). A deadly cult is based on San Nicholas Island. Your job is to stop them at all costs.

This Rise of the Triad remake aims to merge the old-school FPS gameplay from the '90s with today's technology. How will the game be received by gamers today, and how will this perform in the video game market?

The Initiative is a review and analysis series on newly-released PC games. The series will show my first impressions of the gameplay and features at face value, and analyze its longevity in the market and community.
