Review of RIPD (Rest In Peace Department), a wave-based third-person shooter by Old School Games and published by Atlus. The game is based on the upcoming movie, which is based on the 2003 comic book series.

RIPD puts you in the undead shoes of slain officers Nick Walker and Roy Pulsipher as they hunt down supernatural criminals called "Deados". It's a 2-player co-op game that can be played solo, and the gameplay is akin to Resident Evil's Mercenaries, Gears of War's Horde mode or Max Payne's Dead Man Walking mode.

Since RIPD video game was released 3 days prior to the theatre release, it set itself up for extra exposure. How much of an advantage will the movie give to the game in the market?

The Initiative is a review and analysis series on newly-released PC games. The series will show my first impressions of the gameplay and features at face value, and analyze its longevity in the market and community.
