The Lab: Xortex - New infinite mode and global leaderboard [HTC Vive VR]
Xortex, the bullet hell shooter game in Valve's The Lab for the HTC Vive has been updated with infinite mode and a scoreboard
Xortex is the virtual reality version of a bullet hell shump game. You control a ship using one of the HTC Vive motion controllers and navigate around your room in VR to destroy enemies, avoid bullets, and collect powerups. It's one of the minigames in Valve's VR showcase game for HTC Vive, The Lab.
Xortex was recently updated to have an infinite mode where enemies keep spawning until your ship is overrun. There's also a new scoring system and an online global scoreboard so you can compete for high scores with yourself or other players. The rules are slightly different in infinite mode, there are no bosses and powerups give you a score multiplier, going up to 10x. The powerup ability is also changed, it is a bomb instead of a laser and when you use it, your accumulated score modified gets reset.
Valve also updated some of the other games in The Lab. Longbow now has infinite waves, a new scoring system, and a global leaderboard. Slingshot also has a global leaderboard and the mechanics have been tweaked so you can be more destructive.
