*Warning! - I may rant on about the story in the description so be aware there might be spoilers there if you read through it.*

The Last Promise was created by Blazer and is a hack for Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword. This hack is a full length adventure filled with danger, some new items & classes as well as music, and a very well balanced difficulty curve.

You can head to the following site to keep up with the latest news regarding the hack and download the latest version of it:

ROM should be easy enough to find on your own.

Alrighty, Blaine apparently mistakes our team for Magnian forces and the rebellion is going to stop them...apparently.

Lots of pre battle stuff to get through, namely storyline and preparations.

For this map, you are going to want Althares to tag along to steal some Elixirs from three enemies as well as some of your best units who can fly. High defense characters are in demand too as there's only one real magic slinging enemy and he's at the end of the map.

As the map kicks off, you receive some nice items, a Celestial Ring & a Heaven Seal. The Heaven Seal can be used to promote Shon or Kelik, the choice is yours. Obviously I picked Kelik since he's one of my MVPs for sticky situations. There will be another Heaven Seal soon anyways which Shon can then use.

If the items weren't good enough, you get up to three new characters here. One who joins automatically (Yue), another in the village you start near (Sai), and the other comes in if you had Cia talk to him during chapter 18 (Howard).

First off...Sai is just painfully hard to train. If he uses his Steel Axe, it's highly possible the numerous amounts of flying units will double him and likely kill him. He really needs some more speed or an Iron Axe before I'd consider attempting to train him to any decent level. Not even sure how his growths are too. That's how little I've used him.

Thankfully for the other two characters, they are both pretty good in there own ways.

Yue is the first Shaman you have access to. His speed and defense are both low, but really the speed is more of a concern. Considering the general heavy weight of most dark tomes, Yue is really going to need some lucky speed level ups so he's not at risk of being doubled later on.

Howard is the same stat wise as he was as a boss, just without a full set of weapons so he can have a weapon triangle advantage against nearly every enemy he faces. His high strength and speed means he can do some nasty damage while his defenses are also pretty respectable. Having 16 levels of growth means he can become pretty damn good and will not disappoint you.

As for the challenge of this map, the main danger is all the Wyvern Riders and Wyvern Lords. Tons of Wyvern Riders are going to charge you at the start and you need to be able to contain them so they won't beeline it for your squishies.

Once it gets less vicious at the start, you can finish this map so long as you don't accidentally pull a Wyvern Lord to your team like I did early on and have to stall for several turns until I could get rid of it.

After a long haul, you'll reach the boss, Zane.

Zane does not screw around here. His stats are pretty high across the board save for his resistance, but his weapon, Sylmeria, boosts that stat by 5 points, covering up for his one glaring weakness.

Being a flyer, he is weak to bows so if you can abuse that (And your bow user doesn't get doubled in return of course), go ahead. Otherwise just plink away at him until he goes down (And have Althares steal his Elixirs).

Besides the first half of the chapter going rather poorly because I accidentally pulled that Wyvern Lord over towards my army and I had few people who could actually reach it and do any sort of damage. Some of the level ups around there didn't help either.

Then, Rex gets a 6 stat level up (everything but skill went up on that level) and I couldn't have been happier for my #1 spear user.
