The Lost Type Game Sample - PC/Doujin
Original Air Date: February 02, 2010
The creators of this doujin game are excellent graphics artists (Nehopa/Nahopa)... you should really go to their website and check their work --- they've been around for a while. After spending years creating characters, learning how to animate them in demo-reels, movies and in anime skits, the creators have created original characters and a story that revolves around several characters such as Tom and Lemon(i).
Well, it seems Na/Nehopa is getting more ambitious, as they are intergrating those original characters and story into a fighting game. I have little doubt that they can make a good-looking fighter, but making a good fighter is another story altogether. This game is incredibly broken so far with bugs galore. If it wasn't a BETA (I had to beat the game to find this out), I'd say it fails hard. However, if it continues to improve, the game could become one of the more stylish doujin fighters available.
Rather than talk about what's good about the game (as it's not finalized yet), I'll point out some of the bugs I've encountered. The very first bug I've encountered is that the "Vs." music overlaps if you rush through it, drowning out combat for a good twenty or thirty seconds. This is why I wait for it to finish before continuing. Next, the fighting engine is almost wholly broken.
Characters can interrupt moves that shouldn't be interrupted, characters get stuck in air, can throw through most attacks, and most characters have a super move that can be repeated to devastating results or up to easy infinity combos. Some characters have a terrible lack of recovery and there isn't enough slide-back from hits, so some people can get infinity combo'ed just by walking foward while tapping light punch. Last but certainly not least, some moves have ridiculous broken hit mechanics.
Some moves that ordinarily hit five or six times can hit some characters twenty or thirty times (White and Lemon are currently infamous for this) even when blocked. Some attacks are so weak that some moves are just as deadly when blocked as when they connect. That's all I got right now.
If those problems are ironed out, the game will improve ten fold. This video will give people a fair idea of what the final product will be. You can get the game at their main site:

UPDATE (02/16/18): Their site is no longer. You can get the game at:

The menus are mostly in Japanese and English, so you'll find it pretty easily. You can check out their other stuff too.
