We explored both a lower and an upper adit at the Mayflower Mine in the Inyo Mountains. At the upper adit, we found a stone cabin and other structures. A nearby claim marker also had a rusted, metal tin which contained original mining claim papers. We concluded our exploration by hiking back down the steep mountain just after sunset with a brilliant, shining Venus leading the way in the darkening night sky.
