We headed out to remote areas of the Nevada desert to explore these two secluded mines. The Gossan Mine featured a vertical shaft with a severely eroded collar. Its headframe was in pretty good shape, though. The nearby hoist-house was also in good condition. The Sterlog Mine is part of the Sterlog Mines group. Very little information exists on these mines. This particular Sterlog Mine tunnel was dug in the 1920s and abandoned soon thereafter. This tunnel is reportedly a mile long and was dug in an attempt to interest a vertical vein of ore further back in the mountainous area. As you'll see in the video, we found the tunnel to have a major collapse about 150 feet in that was unpassable.
