The Outer Worlds Is A Small RPG With Big Consequences | The Outer Worlds Review
It’s The Outer Worlds review time, and we think it’s a small RPG with big consequences. Let Matthew explain in the video. Oh, and why not check out our Rock Paper Shotgun Displate store, to help support the channel. Click here: https://displate.com/rockpapershotgun?art=5d947922ad0d0
Is The Outer Worlds worth it? That’s the question we’ve been waiting to ask since playing an early preview version. Back then we thought it was Fallout in space, but made on a slightly smaller budget. Now we’ve got a full Outer Worlds review we think this was partially right. The game is a lot like Fallout, and has some cut corners that definitely suggest a smaller budget - the world is a lot smaller, and there’s not much to discover off the beaten path - but as our The Outer Worlds PC review explains, there’s more to a game than breadth.
The amin find of this The Outer Worlds test is that the game has much more replayability than most RPGs, from a story perspective that is. Whatever weird creation emerges from The Outer Worlds character creation has a huge impact on the adventure that follows, from the way you handle challenges, to the way NPCs handle you. The thing that stands out most in our The Outer Worlds impression video is how much the game can shift to accommodate your actions - you can even play as a bad guy if you want.
It’s a pretty polished game by Obsidian’s standard, as you can see in our The Outer Worlds gameplay. This was captured on a GTX 1080. Some people will be surprised at The Outer Worlds length - the game can be tackled in 15 hours quite comfortably, but will double in length if you spend time doing side quests and companion missions. And, as mentioned, it’s very replayable. So there’s no easy answer to how long is The Outer Worlds? It depends on how much you get hooked on its intricate narrative structure.
One huge benefit of playing the game on PC is The Outer Worlds Xbox Game Pass presence - it launches straight into Microsoft’s subscription service, meaning you can play the whole game for pocket change - even less if you use one of the free trials. For that kind of change it seems mad not to give it a go. And we’d love to hear your takes on the game once it is out - make sure to share your The Outer Wolrds review with us.
I hope you enjoy this The Outer Worlds review. If you have any questions not answered by the video, pop them in the comments. Want to know which weapon Matthew favoured?
