That's one small step for man... one giant ship into the sun for mankind. This is the hidden secret "dumb ending" to The Outer Worlds.

You can unlock this ending as a possibility by creating a below average intelligence character. When you patch ADA into The Hope during the quest, Kept Secret But Not Forgotten, you will choose the following dialogue options:

"I'm skipping it myself"

"[Dumb] Stand back ADA. I know numbers real good."

Through a miscalculation you will send The Hope barreling straight into the sun. I call this "the worst ending" because it completely ruins the chances for success of both Phineas Welles' plans and The Board's plans to save the colony. This pretty much ensures that the Halcyon colony will continue to spiral headlong into a systems collapse, with starvation and conflict certain to follow.

It also kills your character, any companions with you and the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of people in cryostasis on The Hope.

But hey, it's an amusing ending to do once and you can just reload a previous save to continue. You will also unlock the trophy / achievement "Sunburn." So there's that too.
