Severance: Blade of Darkness is an abandonware title developed by Rebel Act Studios and published by Codemasters. It is known for having a huge cult following, and a sort of precursor to the Souls series. I guess you could say that this is the Dark Souls of Soulslike games. It is known for having a simplistic plot, but the combat making up for it, being considered to have some of the best combat-systems that any video has ever made. In fact, it was never replicated to this day, and is even more complex than in the souls games!

I did a review of this quite a while back, but I felt like I didn't give the game the praise it deserves, and was frankly wrong about a lot of things. So, here is my redux review. Enjoy!

Music is from Epidemic Sound. The following songs were used:

Rune Dale - River Glen
Deskant - An Ordinary Day
Deskant - Battle of Aonach More
Deskant - Dance of the Wildcats
Bonnie Grace - Deer Hunt
Sage Oursler - Ethelda's Last Breath
Sight of Wonders - New World Order
Deskant - Riverstone Walk
Deskant - Sins of the Fathers
