Discovery Channel's Point and Click Game | Byzantine: The Betrayal Video Game Review (1997, PC)
Ah yes, the Discovery Channel. I'm sure a good amount of you no longer own cable TV, but this was huge back then if you wanted to known about science, technology, and history. They're actually launched a video game studio sometime in 2019, working with video game developers like Ubisoft, which was a huge surprise. I found out that back in the mid 90s they wanted to take part into the CD video game and multimedia craze. They hired Stormfront Studios to make a point and click adventure game called Byzantine: The Betrayal. This reminds me a lot of Gabriel Knight 2, as it is plot-driven, but also partially edutainment, with this case for you to learn about Istanbul, and the Turkish empire during the medieval era. Of course, expectations were high when I've seen the comparison between these two games, as Gabriel Knight 2 is a masterpiece. How does this compare? Find out here:
