The PSN PS3, PSP & PSVita digital store shut down & U turn! Plus all the current PS3 store problems.
So the PlayStation 3 store along with the PSVita is staying open for now, but did you know how broken the PS3 store is right now? Now that the website store has been taking down if you want to buy PS3 games any more you need to use this rather hit and mess version of the store that seems to have more errors and crashes than a faulty floppy disk! More details to follow later! If you find the information helpful in this video please do share it and help spread the word Sony need to fix these type of problems with the PS3 store.
Issues raised in this video:
1. Lots of titles being delisted even after the shutdown has been suspended, so buy now while you still can.
2. Games and add-on not showing up in the search function in the store, even if they are available to buy! Only found in the huge all games or add-on lists, which is a nightmare to navigate. As of the time of writing there are 1450+ games and 11000+ add-on for the PS3 alone.
3. Some games can only be purchase if you download the trial, then access the trial from the XMB menu and bring up the options using the triangle button, one of which is purchase.
4. PS3 Store has not been updated since 2018, so can't buy many newer PSVita games on it.
5. Some early games didn't use the patching server to deliver patches to you and instead required you connect online in game, once the online mode is closed the patch can't be downloaded. Retail games that have this problem include Motorstorm, Everybody's Golf: World Tour, Resistance Fall of Man and Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom.
6. DLC for games like Motorstorm sold in the store requires the patch, however with the online shutdown the patch is no longer available (Patches needs to be added to store as free download). Motorstorm has a complete retail version which is very uncommon to find, Everybody's Golf: World Tour has a PSN store bundle that includes all DLC and is patched to the latest version. Resistance Fall of Man has a digital version from 2012 that may include the patch as standard.
7. Game like Beyond Two Souls, have DLC locked to the PAL SKU of the game, there are at least four PAL SKU versions of Beyond Two Souls, but currently the store only lets you download DLC for one. Our version is (EU3) and is in full English bought from GAME in the UK and can't use the DLC on the store. As you should be given the download for all the SKUs. Thread here suggests all SKUs should be available to download on DLC purchase: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/673021-beyond-two-souls/67451728
8. Some items like the DLC for Starhawk, Mire Prospector Map can't be bought or downloaded in the UK Store. Same with the Free PSP DLC Pack 4 for Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce. This needs fixing for both to be available for download.
9. Some of the DLC given away with games on purchase, like the The Eye of Judgment: Legends UMD release which contained a code for the Dragon Rider. That was never released to the store for free or as a purchase add-on. So digital buyer of the game could never get it and the codes are now long expired. Needs adding to the store.
