At E3 2002, Nintendo handed out a pack of promotional cards for its upcoming Game Boy Advance peripheral, the e-Reader. The e-Reader connected to the GBA and read lines of dot code printed on cards to run games or other applications. In the pack of promo cards there were two Pokemon cards for the trading card game, a card that played the Game & Watch game Manhole when scanned, and finally a Kirby card. The Kirby card was for a contest held at E3, and indicated if the card was a winner or not when scanned. When turning in one of the few winning cards to a Nintendo rep, the Nintendo rep would tear the winning card, making the few LOSING cards still in existence to be the rarest e-Reader cards.

Until now. Someone has found a rare first place winning Kirby e-Reader card, which is currently on eBay going for more than $10,000. In this video, I take a few minutes to recap the capabilities of the Nintendo e-Reader, as well as share with you my own rare losing Kirby e-Reader contest card.
