The Retro Force Demo's mysterious NTSC.EXE
Hidden in the files for the demo of Retro Force included on PlayStation Zone CD Vol. 4 is an executable by the name of NTSC. It is not accessable through normal means and can only be launched with Unirom.
What it does, is that It simply shows the Psygnosis logo and the game's intro, both of them in NTSC format hence the name of the file, then it hangs up. Same goes for pressing a button to skip both of them.
Given that the game is a PAL-Exclusive, I can assume that because of the executable with the name NTSC, a North American release probably might have been in the cards, before for some inexplicable reason, it was shelved and the game was ultimately made to be exactly what it is, not that it really matters all that much, given that the game is, well... poor and extremely lacking. For those in North America, you really weren't missing out on something. The game was never even submitted to the ESRB for a rating, which, if it were given a rating, it would have been E for Everyone. This was not like Global Domination from the same studio that made this, the Leeds Studio, that had a North American release planned and received an ESRB rating, before for some reason, it was shelved too. Two betas of the unreleased North American version were eventually found, leaked and dumped, but even that game is nothing all that special either. A PC version did get released in North America, but even then, it's nothing special.
