The "Super Kirby Galaxy" that I've always dreamed of.
Kirby, Kirby, Kirby... that's a name you should know. And it's been a while since I dove into some of his Fan-Games, too. While it's pretty rare to come across them in general, there are a select few that I truly believe have a name in the fan-gaming community... and one of them so happens to be the game that I'll be reviewing today! This one is called "Kirby Gamble Galaxy Stories", and I truly believe this game has the potential to embrace new gameplay styles that not only fit the 'Kirby Standard', but change it in ways that help benefit the gameplay as a whole.
From the first level alone, you can immediately tell that some adjustments were made to the formulaic style that most Kirby Games have in-terms of structure. Like for instance... when you take a warp-star, the screen doesn't fade to black long before it reaches the next area. It immediately cuts to the point where you arrive to the desired location, just to make it seem like all the areas in the game are connected to each other in some way. [Almost as if these worlds are connected to the some kind of massive "HUB World".] And whenever you gain a "Copy Ability", an icon appears long after you've gained the ability's power, which acts almost like a status bar. [But it doesn't show when you've taken damage.]
This game also has a rather... intriguing story. King Dedede returned to his greedy ways (similar to how the story went down in "Kirby Super Star"), but this time around... a mysterious creature fell straight from the sky, and Kirby comes across this creature during his quest to destr-- defeat King Dedede and bring all the food back to the residents of dreamland. As it turns out, this creature needs Kirby's help defeating a "Cosmic Tyrant" who plans on invading popstar through whatever means neccesary. So they enlist the help of Meta Knight, and set off to a familiar place called "Gamble Galaxy" (which is ALSO the final level of "Kirby Squeak Squad") in order to put a stop to this mysterious threat to the galaxy. {And stop "King Dedede" when their adventure is done and over with.}
I must say... if you're considering giving this game a shot, then I really think you should at least give it a try. The game itself is planned to have more content, and an onslaught of features that'll help enhance the experience overall. [There will even be TONS of secrets planned for it, too! And that's something that I'm reeeeeeeeally looking forward to once development on the title has finally been completed. :D] The link to it is down below, by the way. I hope you all enjoy playing this wonderful masterpiece of a fan-game!
