Honestly, I wasn't all that high on playing Michonne again, and purely visited purely for completion purposes - but I'm so glad I did. Telltale games took advantage in the first season of the characters established in the comic book - Hershel and Glenn to be precise, but they were cameos (and purely I'd imagine to keep folk interested in who would show up) - but until now, they didn't have the chance to enhance a character's story or build upon their canon development.

In this three episode romp, they not only take care with their approach to a character with such depth as Michonne, but create a wonderful and fulfilling story that adds to her comic book narrative, rather than capitalising on it. Michonne's story runs three episodes and it gradually progresses, initially focusing on her unsociable personality and survival priorities - and gradually becomes more powerful with her vulnerabilities becoming more prominent.

It's not without fault, and seems to conclude just as it's started running. Episode 1 was largely empty, and it isn't until midway through episode 2 that you begin to feel involved - no matter how despicable the antagonists are, you have to care about everybody and their relationships. I felt that all the supporting characters were just... there. I didn't have enough time to give enough of a shit about the casualties or the survivors.

What I did like is that the project came across as a love for her character, so much so that it did not come across as dumb fan service. So much care was put into this side episode that it has become my second favourite instalment, after the first season.
