On Hard difficulty, I've discovered that The Witcher actually has a bit more room for quick thinking, precision and timing than I had anticipated given its generally stats- and rhythm-heavy nature. Aside from using alchemical buffs, the tough battle against the Beast required me to move Geralt around quite a bit and abandon the rigid 1-2-3-Final combo dance which I relied on during my Normal playthrough.

As for the choices & consequences, the witch-friendly resolution to the Abigail quest was better than I remembered it (Geralt may not be a particularly relatable character, but his indignant moralism is sure a bit easier to swallow than his outright disgust) and I also liked seeing the early decision to fight the giant mantis come back to haunt the hero.
