Slime Rancher is, at its core, a game about chores. You have a bunch of chores to do, and you make money for doing those chores. When you put it like that, it sounds criminally boring doesn't it?
But despite that, this game is a lot of fun. It has a lot of charm, a great art style, the core gameplay loop is engaging and it's pretty good at slowly introducing new things to do to new players to keep them engaged.
How does a game all about laborious work end up being so fun?
