Hmm...it's considered to be Contra with girls, but it's more than that. It's a "Maid Action Game", according to the creators...that's exactly what Contra needed! MAIDS! O.K., seriously, it's not really more than Contra, and it's somewhat dissappointing to me too, considering that this same doujin group worked on another game that I consider to be of higher quality, Magical Hop. The game is an ecchi-filled/loli-filled romp through stages with guns and bombs.

The game is kinda slow, the controls are sluggish, and the gameplay isn't anything out of the ordinary, though there aren't enough games like it in the doujin scene (with straight-up simultaneous two player run 'n gun action), but I'm not complaining. Spanner-chan is a hentai game (still in the demo phase), but it was a lot better than this. To be fair, Theremin was made back in 2003...but it isn't really that great. You can choose between four maids who go through areas picking up a few power-ups and shooting a bunch of different machines and girls, some less dressed than others and all who sound annoying when defeated.

Anyway, enjoy. Oh, and I don't know why it's named after/similarly to the electronic musical instrument.
