They Changed Optimus Prime’s Face to Confuse Fans. For the past few years, we’ve seen drastic changes made to the live action Transformers. With Bumblebee’s movie ushering in those changes. Gone were the days of the super extra-terrestrial designs of the Bayverse. Instead, Travis Knight decided to go with a more accurate G1 design with a modern touchup. And for the longest time they alluded to the film being a prequel to the earlier Bayverse movies. Such as Bumblebee scanning a Camero at the end of the film. And although Optimus retained his G1 design throughout the Bumblebee movie. We later see him sporting a slightly different design that evokes Bayverse Optimus Prime. Where keeps his Bumblebee movie helmet while retaining the same facial features from the original Michael Bay trilogy. Further which only confusing fans. And the truth is that they wanted it to be confusing. Because they want to bring back the fans who hated the Bayverse while retaining the 1s who loved it. Which is why they’ll never give us a direct answer on if it’s a prequel or not.
