Zeta Prime Wasn’t an Original Member of the 13 Primes. During Transformers One its established that Zeta Prime was one of the original thirteen Primes created by Primus, and the very first to wield the Matrix of Leadership. Where he and his Prime brethren ruled Cybertron until they met their untimely demise at the hands of the Quintessons. Which was thanks largely in part to Sentinel luring them into a trap. And labeling himself a Prime even after being proven unworthy of the title. But the funny thing is, neither was Zeta Prime. Or at least not in other universes. That’s right, the character of Zeta Prime is not one typically associated with the Thirteen, usually being a character representing one of Optimus Prime's predecessors. As a matter of fact, he and Sentinel Prime are usually 1 in the same. Where they’re an officer of the Elite Guard who’s simply given the Prime name. In other continuities the 13th Prime is cloaked in mystery. Where his legacy is carried forward in the present day by those who wield the Matrix. So technically it would be Optimus.
