CHAPTER 4: A FRIEND IN NEED
Garrett's best friend and contact, Basso, has been captured and is being kept in Baron Northcrest's Keep, so Garrett is going to break in there while there's a full scale war going on in the City streets as Orion's Graven are attacking the Baron's men and the poor are overthrowing the aristos.

100% loot and collectibles.

There's a secret entrance in the greenhouse that let's you skip the mansion pretty much entirely, which is useful if you're not going for loot. Do what I did by climbing up the scaffolding, but instead of entering the duct sneak past the guard on the balcony, use a rope arrow on the beam and jump and drop inside through the open greenhouse window.

There's another secret entrance in the library room with the nosy guard and Mother Mulberry as well, but it's pointless. If you don't get loot the greenhouse is the best entrance, if you do go for loot the cellar is better. The library entrance is difficult to use without raising suspicion and has overall bad placement in the level.
Also in the library it is actually possible to steal all the loot without dousing the fire, but it takes too long because you need to wait for the perfect moment, be incredibly fast, and the servant's ability to detect you is buggy making your chances very random. She can easily see you when she's turned around and yet other times she can't see you even though you're right in front of her and brightly lit (I've had some staring contests with her), so avoiding her gaze is just complete luck and has absolutely fuck all to do with her body model's movements.

I screwed up slightly in the main hall when throwing the bottle. I threw it by accident through the doorway, making the guard on the first floor not hear it. If I had thrown it on the wall slightly more to the right, the guard on the first floor would've stood still for a while, giving me ample time to loot the chest and avoid yet another raised suspicion in the stats. I decided to live with that screw up because I honestly wasn't expecting to finish the chapter in this go.
Also, although to the casual observer it might look like the guard saw ME when I was moving away from the chest, I believe he actually spotted the "open" chest. Like I wrote in the video description of the first chapter, the AI in this game has a supernatural ability to spot open containers no matter where, often even long after the lid closing animation has played out, and it always takes precedence over anything else suspicious they might see and puts them into alert mode. Had the guard actually seen a glimpse of me there, I do believe that would've been an instant fade to grey and game over.
Of course I could be wrong, as I'm not the game's developer. If I were, I'd be ashamed of myself.

It's fucking annoying how rare the bottles are to find in levels. Why the hell does it need to be a specific looking bottle for Garrett to be able to throw it when there's tons of other small bottles and jugs around on the ground? Pick one up and toss it, Garrett, you twat!
Or buy some noisemakers.

The box I used wire cutters on in the cellar just clears the way in the secret tunnel leading to the elevator.

The platform leading to the "secret" area with the gear in the Keep pipeline area took me ages to figure out. You have to jump there, immediately crouch when you land and keep moving forward, anything else and it falls. In the end it's actually not that difficult to do, just tricky to figure out. Or was for me. Maybe I'm just a dummy.

At the end you can sneak past the guards to the safe quite easily even with the lights on, but turning them off doesn't change the rating in anyway despite the audio of them crying about it, and it just adds about 10 more seconds to the sequence when you have to time a couple of movements more carefully.

I don't really like the fact that I got the rating of Opportunist. I have no idea what I keep doing wrong and I just don't care enough anymore to try and correct this horrible mistake that'll surely spell doom for me and rattle my position at the top as a King of Walkingthrough and Master of Sneaking Games. I have gone through the level without using any water arrows, turning the lights off or picking pockets, and the pie chart at the end still looked the same. I've even done worse than I did here before and the pie chart still looked the same. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME, PIE?!

I was essentially sleepwalking through the level when I recorded it, until after I got past the smoke room without failing. I've never gotten through the fiery pipes and the smoke room without taking a little damage and on this custom difficulty taking any damage at all is a game over which is why I wasn't expecting to get through it in one go. After that room I did get very nervous because I realized how stupid I'd feel if I failed at the easy part when I breezed through the most difficult sections.
