When you don't upgrade weapons you miss out on the stats the upgrade gives but more importantly, you lose out on skills. That means my Axe and Blades only have level one skills. The Spear starts at level 5 when you get it so I only have the level 5 skills for it. In this variation of the fight, I am using all 9 Burdens with all of the Spartan gear including the Aspis shield.
Thor in Asgard is a great fight. It's a great balance of difficulty and fun. The only part that has cheap stuff in it is phase 3. The hazards on the ground seem completely random and you can end up stepping in one behind you without ever knowing it was there. Thor can also push you in one as well. But other than that it's a pretty good fight. The true challenge for me came from doing it in a single segment without Rage or Relic uses. I also parried every one of the yellow ring attacks which can create problems when using the Aspis shield given how small the timing window is.
