Released in 2011 for iOS, Thor: Son of Asgard is a third-person action game developed by Disney Mobile and based loosely on the Marvel comics and film. Players take control of Thor as he battles his way through the Nine Realms to uncover a plot threatening Asgard, swinging Mjolnir against waves of enemies in touch-based combo combat.
The game features a linear level structure, simple hack-and-slash gameplay, and dialogue scenes between missions. While its visuals were impressive for the time, the repetitive combat and lack of deeper mechanics made it feel more like a quick movie tie-in than a full-fledged adventure.
There isn't a huge amount to say about this one from my point of view; the game itself was very repetitive and simple, but mindless enough that I was able to play through the full game in basically one sitting. It definitely had a similar vibe to Gameloft games of the same era, but definitely not one of the greats. Still, if you told me Gameloft made this back in 2010, I would certainly believe you!
