TimeSplitters 2 Walkthrough Part 1: Siberia (INTRO)
2Hello, dear gamers and welcome to the start of another walkthrough. As you may have figured out by now, the final walkthroughs of 2022 will consist of back-to-back walkthroughs of my absolutely favorite video game trilogy; TimeSplitters. With the first game of the series already recorded, it's time to carry on and dive into the fast-paced world of TimeSplitters 2!
About Game: TimeSplitters 2 is 2002 First-Person Shooter video game developed by Free Radical Design and published by Eidos Interactive for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube with the game having also been made backwards-compatible with Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S in December 2021. Upon release, TimeSplitters 2 was met with nearly universal acclaim as critics praised tremendous gameplay update in comparison to its predecessor and inclusion of actual story campaign with some critics even going as far as to call it one of the best First-Person Shooters ever created. However, the lack of online multiplayer was criticized. Despite this game's overall success, it still remains reatively obscure, just like the rest of TimeSplitters series. A direct sequel to this game and third game in TimeSplitters series, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, was released in 2005.
Story of the game is set in the year 2401 and primarily follows Sargeant Cortez, a space marine who is an active participant in a war between entire human race and TimeSplitters, an alien race hell-bent on exterminating humanity, to that end having developed a time machine which allows them to travel through time and alter human history, giving them significant advantage over humanity. In order to cripple TimeSplitters' war efforts, Cortez and his collegue, Corporal Hart have been dispatched to the space station orbiting Earth which was taken over by a large colony of TimeSplitters, their objective being to steal the power source of their time machine in order to let humanity fight back against 'Splitters' corruption of their history. However, as Cortez and Hart fight their way to the station's command bridge where the time machine and its power source; Nine emerald crystals are located, they discover that a group of TimeSplitters is already in the process of relocating the crystals into different time periods. Failing to prevent them from escaping, Cortez and Hart lock themselves on the command bridge, deciding to follow the group of TimeSplitters in order to recover the crystals one by one with Cortez going into the portal alone while Hart stays behind in the station in order to co-ordinate Cortez and hold off TimeSplitters in case they manage to breach onto the bridge.
Heading after the first crystal, Cortez lands near Soviet research facility built within Oblask Dam, Siberia in the year 1990, taking a form of Ilsa Nadir, Soviet special forces agent sent into a solo infiltration mission into Oblask Dam with the orders to destroy any and all evidence of the illegal bio-medical experiments that have taken place in the facility...
