Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow Walkthrough Part 1: US Embassy (INTRO)
Welcome back to the channel, dear gamers. As promised, today we'll return into the world of covert espionage and intrigue with the continuation of my Splinter Cell series walkthrough. Sit back, relax and enjoy the gameplay.
Please note that just like with the previous Splinter Cell game, Pandora Tomorrow has several distinct versions released for multiple platforms. Version played in this walkthrough was released for PlayStation 2 and GameCube and as such, this walkthrough likely won't be of any help for those playing PC/PS3 or Xbox version of the game. Also, just like with my Yakuza 2 walkthrough, blue bar with emulator options will be visible in the upper part of the screen since i'm not recording the game in fullscreen mode with the reason for this being the need to run this game in software mode in order to offset graphical glitches as for reasons beyond my understanding, PCSX2 refuses to record gameplay properly in fullscreen if the game is ran in software mode. Due to this, this small issue will remain in all games recorded in PCSX2's software mode until further notice but shouldn't interfere with the gameplay. With that out of the way, enjoy the game.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow is 2004 action-adventure stealth video game developed by Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Milan and published by Ubisoft for PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, Windows-based PCs, GameBoy Advance and mobile phones with HD remaster of the PC version of the game also being released for PlayStation 3 in 2011 alongside first Splinter Cell and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. It is the second game of Splinter Cell series and a part of Tom Clancy's video game franchise, serving as a direct sequel to 2002's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. Upon release, Pandora Tomorrow received very positive reviews, ranging from universal acclaim at best to generally favorable at worst as critics praised the game's inclusion of multiplayer which was commonly singled out as one of the game's strongest attributes in the reviews of the time whereas single player portion was also well received although critics considered its gameplay to be too reliant on trial-and-error, similarly to its predecessor. Regardless, Pandora Tomorrow sold extremely well and was even nominated for awards by several high-profile gaming publications in 2004. Due to this success, Splinter Cell series was continued with Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory which was released in 2005.
Story of the game takes place in early 2006, nearly two years after the events of first Splinter Cell and follows Sam Fisher, elite operative of NSA's elite black ops organization called Third Echelon as he finds himself in an fight against Darah Dan Doa, Indonesian paramilitary group and terrorist organization which has attacked the US embassy in East Timor as an retalliation for American support to recently independent East Timor, which was previously under Indonesian occupation until 2002 with Sam's mission quickly drawing him into another dangerous conspiracy.
After Darah Dan Doa militants attack and take over American embassy in Dili, East Timor, Sam is dispatched into the area in order to infiltrate the embassy and make contact with Douglas Shetland, military contractor working within the embassy and Sam's old friend in order to learn what happened. Despite DDD militants patrolling the area around the embassy and executing hostages inside, Sam is able to make his way to Douglas, also catching glimpse of DDD's leader named Suhadi Sadono as he personally interrogates and kills the hostages Once he makes contact with Douglas, Sam discovers that before being captured, Douglas has managed to grab an SD card with the encrypted data whose analysis confirms that while seeming to be a random gibberish with only four identifiable words, data is actually written down in an specific Timorese dialect and was sent by an anonymous person going under the alias of "Mortified Penguin". Aware that there is an Indonesian linguist and CIA operative named Ingrid Karlthson working within the embassy and that she is likely under armed guard, Sam sneaks his way to her location and upon showing her the PDA with information in Timorese, discovers that the data actually contains coded instructions for a meeting with additional reference to "Springfield demonstration", implying that the enigmatic sender and Sadono are co-operating...
