Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Walkthrough Part 1: Training (INTRO)
Welcome back to the channel, dear gamers. As promised, today, we'll start the walkthrough of one of the longer series of this channel; Tom Clancy-branded games which consist of several distinct video game series set within the same universe, primarily, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and of course, Splinter Cell whose first game we're going to kickstart on this channel today so sit back, put your trifocal night vision goggles on and make sure to stay well-hidden as i take you through the world of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.
Please note that Splinter Cell was released in several distinct versions across multiple platforms (Xbox, PS2/GameCube and PC) which are differentiated in level design and certain other aspects. The version of the game played for this walkthrough is PS2 version which means that if you are planning to play either PC or Xbox versions of this game, my walkthrough likely won't be of any help to you. This warning will likely also apply to other Tom Clancy games recorded on the channel due to their propensity to vary greatly between different platforms. With that out of the way, enjoy the gameplay.
About Game: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is 2002 action-adventure stealth video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for Xbox, PlayStation 2, PC, GameCube, Java-compatible mobile phones, Nokia N-Gage and GameBoy Advance with the remastered version of this game having also been released for PlayStation 3 in 2011. Having been seen as a strong competition to then-undisputed king of stealth third-person action games, Metal Gear Solid even before release, Splinter Cell was received with mostly positive reviews upon release as critics praised the game's extensive use of lightning and shadows in its stealth and other improvements over Metal Gear Solid's stealth formula while also criticizing the game's sometimes frustrating difficulty and cutscenes which were considered wooden and upolished even by the standards of the time. However, Splinter Cell is today seen as one of the crucial games in evolution of stealth in video games due to its innovative gameplay features which will go on to inspire future generations of stealth systems in the games released long after 2002 and has also won several prestigious awards, including 2003 award for the best Xbox game given by IGN and 2003 edition of Spike video game awards. Due to this success, Splinter Cell became a full-fledged series with several mainline entries and spin-offs being released between 2004 and 2013. In 2021, Ubisoft announced that a full remake of Splinter Cell has entered production, however, as of September 2023, there are no news on its development.
Story of the game is set in the late 2004 and follows Sam Fisher, agent of Third Echelon, top secret black ops organization working for US' National Security Agency and whose main objective is to covertly safeguard American interests all over the world by utilizing a combination of classic espionage and cutting-edge technology afforded to them by their employers. After two NSA agents sent to Georgia, former Soviet republic located in Caucasus region, go missing while investigating mysterious communication blackouts affecting the country, Sam is tasked with heading into the country and finding out what happened. However, since he had been recruited into Third Echelon only recently following decades of experience in other military and intelligence branches, Sam is first taken to Third Echelon's training facility in Virginia in order to undergo an examination of his abilities by Third Echelon's director and Sam's old combat buddy named Irving Lambert...
