As for the ending, I forgot to let go of the jump button. Oops. I've been playing Tomb Raider since 1997, and even I still goober at the game.

I recently picked up the first four PC TR games off Steam, and I have found that the USB controller that came with the PlayStation Classic is the perfect way for me to play them as I was a Playstation Tomb Raider player. The only game it doesn't quite work perfectly for is the original TR where I had to set the look button to a keyboard button, because it doesn't recognize all the triggers, however for Tomb Raider 2 and up, you can match the controls to the PS1 version nearly identically which works for me.

I love the original Tomb Raider series. They are in a class of their own when it comes to 3D level designs. So much thought was put into every level of each game that they still put modern level designs to shame. I guess you could put it in the same classification as early FPS games like Doom and Quake where they don't design levels like these anymore.

I only recently bought The Last Revelation on the Playstation. I rented it back in the day, but didn't own it until around 2017. Playing into it, Core was definitely expanding the design of the game with this one as it has more of an open world feel to it. You will back track to certain areas of the game, and there is an over-wold. Maybe it's more similar to the hub world design of Quake II or something like that.

If you read all the mainstream reviews of it's time, the editors would just say, "It's more of the same." when in truth, Core was making design changes that weren't getting mentioned. I'm guessing that most of the gaming journalists just couldn't beat the game. Lol.

The Last Revelation is a great entry into the classic Tomb Raider series. Objectively, it's probably the best entry, taking all that worked in Tomb Raider 1&2, and expanding on all the didn't in Tomb Raider III, and making probably the best entry in the Core series. Tomb Raider 2 is still my favorite, the original is probably still the fan favorite best, but objectively, The Last Revelation is probably the actual best entry in the classic TR series.
