The first annual Legendary Publishers’ Awards will be given to board game publishers who meet the rigorous standards that our channel arbitrarily invented. For the top 3 companies, we will be giving out FREE digital prizes at the end of the video to recognize their accomplishments. These are 2020s TOP 10 Board Game Publishers.

You’re probably wondering how such a determination is made, and if you aren’t, I’m going to tell you anyways. The size of the company does not matter. We’re not looking at volume of games they churn out.

#1) THE most important criteria is that they publish at least 1 really great game or more in the last calendar year. This includes expansions. We also consider whether the company is porting digital versions of their games, because for some players, especially in 2020, digital tabletop games are emerging as a really important way to connect.

#2) We also consider the value you get when you buy the game. What is the quality of the components? The artwork? The design choices? How accessible is the game to new players? These details really matter when it comes to getting a game to the table.

#3) There’s more to a board game publisher than just putting out games. We also consider the publisher’s ethos. What do they stand for? Do they support their games after selling them? Will they communicate with us if we have questions or inquiries?
