Shadows of Evil is my favorite map of all time. Here’s five things it did right.
#5: Shadows has incredible attention to detail. Every area feels lived in and real. You could spend hours walking around and reading the signs around the map.
#4: Shadows has tons of small extra features that make the map better. Things like the Civil Protector, the Pods, and the Shield and Lil’ Arnie upgrades all add extra, optional things for the player to do.
#3: Shadows introduced the only new perk in Black Ops 3 with Widow’s Wine, and it’s a top five perk of all time.
#2: Shadows has a perfect layout. Every area is easy to get to, has a distinct look, and getting across the map takes no time at all.
#1: Speaking of the look, Shadows of Evil has the best theme and aesthetics of any Zombies map to date. The red hue that covers the map gives it a unique visual style, and the jazz soundtrack is instantly recognizable.
